Flintshire Local Voluntary Council (FLVC) was established in April 1997 as an independent registered charity number 1062644 and company limited by guarantee number 3301204. It was clear there was a role for this new Council to continue the work previously undertaken by the Clwyd Voluntary Services Council which ceased to exist in 1996 following local government reorganisation when the County structure of Clwyd was divided into three separate Unitary Counties namely Flintshire, Wrexham and Denbighshire.
There are 14 Trustees and they are appointed to the Board by election at the Annual General Meeting by the members of FLVC for a period of 3 years. Current membership totals 227 and includes voluntary and community groups, individuals , statutory agencies and businesses. The Board are responsible for the overall management of the Voluntary Council ensuring that its policies, procedures and activities are in accordance with its constitution and charitable and company status.
The key aim of FLVC is to promote, support and develop voluntary activity and voluntary groups in Flintshire. To assist in achieving this aim a set of minimum performance standards has been adopted .
