For the last six years CRISP has provided a range of services to voluntary and community groups from its Information and Resource Centres in Flint and Shotton. Unfortunately, the funding for the project will come to an end on 31 December, and FLVC has been unable to find the funds to maintain these services. Sadly this means that the two Information Shops will close at the end of November to give us time to clear them out by the end of December. On a more positive note, Communities First Flint will be able to take on the Flint Resource Centre and continue to run it as a local community resource with voluntary groups continuing to use it.
However, It has been a very difficult time for staff and volunteers but they have continued to provide services in a positive and professional manner. Volunteers have been encouraged to look at other opportunities and to discuss these with Volunteer Centre staff. FLVC is organising an event to celebrate and thank volunteers and staff for their contribution and commitment to the project. CRISP has been very well used during its lifetime, and we would like to thank all those organisations that have given us such solid support over the last six years.
Funding for the Printing Resource Centre in Ty'r Binwydden, Mold is also ending but FLVC is planning to continue this element of the project using income generated from its services. It will be further developed as a Social Enterprise in 2008. Groups can continue to use this service as normal. We're aware that some voluntary groups have come to rely on CRISP shops to promote and provide their services locally and we will be discussing with these groups, options for the future.
