The Nurturing Programme is a course for parents and carers with children of any age living in Flintshire.
It runs for two hours per week for ten weeks, and aims to support families to get the best out of family life. The course is free, informal and fun. Parents are encouraged to get involved and support each other. Confidentiality is paramount, and each new group will set out their own rules and expectations.
Parents who attend the course are offered the opportunity to gain accreditation through the Open College Network, providing recognition for what you have learnt. A course attendance certificate and a copy of the ‘Parenting Puzzle’ handbook is available to everyone who attends at least 8 sessions.
We respect that for some parents joining a new group can be daunting. In order to make people feel as comfortable as possible, the Parent Group Leader will meet up with the parent on at least two occasions before the start of the course, and also arrange a coffee morning so that everyone can meet before the course gets going. This also provides the chance to meet the crèche staff that will be looking after the children and ask any questions.
