FCC Community Based Accommodation Support Service helps vulnerable and older people to live independently and safely in their own homes.
Following extensive consultation, FCC Sheltered Housing Warden Service has changed into a Community Based Accommodation Support Service, available to any older person needing support regardless of where they live.
Our aim is to promote, encourage and support independent living, allowing vulnerable and older people to remain living as independently and safely within their own home. The service that you will receive will be based on an assessment of your support needs, and will be flexible and responsive, and will change if your needs change.
Winter Specific Service Provision: Where snow makes it impossible for FCC staff to get to work, then they will be encouraged to walk and support vulnerable residents in the local area by helping with path clearance, or just providing support to vulnerable residents.
Those vulnerable residents who must get out to essential appointments will receive help to do so by way of snow clearance and gritting. For emergency food supplies, for accessing gritting of individual sheltered tenants paths and gritting for those receiving Care and Support Services or Children’s Disability Services (where there is no one in the household who can help), can access help by contacting the Carelink office.
