Macmillan Information and Support Centres are based at the main acute hospital sites in North Wales. There are also Macmillan information points and drop-in sessions located at a number of libraries in Gwynedd and South Denbighshire providing information for anyone affected by cancer or any other chronic health condition.
Hospital based Macmillan Information and Support Centres
Macmillan Information and Support Centres in Wrexham Maelor Hospital, Glan Clwyd Hospital and Ysbyty Gwynedd, offer free confidential information and support to everyone. Centres stock accurate and comprehensive information or cancer awareness, specific cancers and treatments, living with cancer and carer support. The centres also host regular drop-in sessions, providing an opportunity to meet with trained Macmillan funded and Tenovus Cancer Care counsellors and benefits advisors.
The Centres can be accessed Monday – Friday 10am – 4pm. Macmillan Information and Support Co-ordinators offer face to face support to patients, families and friends in a comfortable and relaxed environment. They are also able to signpost and refer to other sources of support such as benefits advisors and social workers.
The Centres provide a drop-in service but if you are making a special journey to talk to an information and support counsellor we advise you to phone first to check their availability.
