Serving North Wales and West Cheshire; run by transgendered people.
Transgenderism – in all its various forms – and intersex conditions are more common that is generally realised. Only recently are they beginning to be understood by the medical profession.
Transgendered people – from closet cross-dresser to transsexuals following gender reassignment surgery – often need reassurance and support from others. Also up-to-date information to help in making decisions and countering the ignorance and prejudice often still encountered.
UNIQUE has a wealth of personal experience and useful contacts within the local community and caring professions. We also offer a safe environment where transgendered people can meet once a month, and provide essential information about all aspects of transgenderism.
Our aim is to promote the life skills transgendered people need to interact socially in their appropriate gender, and to give people generally an insight into the rainbow of transgendered identity.
