The Ty'r Binwydden Support Service has been in operation since October 2001.
The project was initially established to provide a reception service within Ty’r Binwydden and to be responsible for the following:
Providing general information about voluntary and statutory services, particularly those within Ty’r Binwydden
Signposting to other services where necessary
Ensuring visitors sign in and out
Room booking service and promotion of the meeting rooms
Sorting and distribution of post and parcels
Currently there are approximately twelve volunteers who assist in the operation of reception. They have been recruited by various means:
Volunteer Bureau
FLVC Newsletter
Evening Leader
Word of Mouth
Other Organisations
The volunteers that are involved in the project are all here for a variety of reasons and come from various walks of life and across a wide age range. The reasons people are volunteering at Ty’r Binwydden are, to fill in time, to gain skills, a stepping stone to paid employment, to meet people, to gain insight to the voluntary sector and many more. All volunteers are encouraged to take advantage of training opportunities available and to make use of the staff at FLVC.
If an individual or group have an enquiry about a certain issue and FLVC do not have a specific group on the database, we will endeavour to find information on that issue.
