Flintshire Local Voluntary Council are seeking to appoint a Third Sector Development Officer – (Community Venues)

Hours:  37 per week          
Salary:  £25,012 per annum (12 Month Fixed Term)
Office base:  FLVC Offices, CORLAN Mold and/or home-working (in line with Government safety guidelines) – will include outreach work across Flintshire (and some travel across North Wales, as required).

Role:
The postholder will play a lead role in the co-ordination and delivery of FLVC’s new 3RRR (Reset, Resume, Rebound) project to support community venues and outreach support services operating within community buildings.

As we transition from lockdown restrictions in 2021, the post holder will support Trustees, Staff and supporting volunteers as they re-open/develop the use of premises and plan to expand the use of Community Buildings, back to the levels of use that existed before the onset of the Covid 19 pandemic.  The service will support Third Sector groups (involved in the provision of services within community venues) by:

  • Providing support to review and improve operational functions and procedures. (e.g.  Governance, health & safety, safeguarding, etc.).
  • Providing free training on key issues to support safe and effective services within community buildings (Village Halls, Community centres, Third Sector Hubs)
  • Supporting community venues to access digital technology to support their operations
  • Promoting and supporting the use of our valuable community halls and other buildings that are accessible for the delivery of community-based wellbeing, leisure and learning activities
  • Developing a Community Venue Network Forum to facilitate peer support and the sharing of learning and good practice

The post holder should have:

  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • A relevant qualification at NVQ level 3 Standard or above.
  • A qualification in, and experience of, delivering training up to NVQ Level 3.
  • Experience of Project Management
  • Knowledge of Third Sector governance requirements
  • Confidence in working in a multi-agency environment.

Trauma Recovery Practitioner – Therapeutic Activities Group

We at TAG facilitate therapeutic, early interventions that aims to mitigate the long term impact of Adverse Childhood Experiences (ACEs) and Childhood Trauma in young people by promoting positive engagement and companionship and improving physical, emotional and social wellbeing.  

However, a focus on wellbeing is not restricted to the young people we work with, our core values are in place for the wellbeing of colleagues and participants alike.

Job Purpose

The purpose of the role is to work in partnership with schools and engage with pre-selected challenging or vulnerable young people in sessional work.  The programme is aimed to develop positive relationships, assist young people in their recovery from childhood adversity and trauma and promote pro-social attitudes and behaviour and support positive change.

Coronavirus

The coronavirus pandemic and subsequent various lockdowns are having an unavoidable impact on many schools.  The uncertainty is a concern, however, inevitably children will return to school at some point.  It is just a matter of time.

Within this role you will assist the Volunteer Manager and Coordinators in the effective administration of the CAIS volunteering programme and other projects. You will carry out general office duties to support the Volunteer Coordinator and Manager and will promote CAIS services both internally and externally. This role will also encompass other projects which you will be responsible for administering.

You will have previous experience within an administrative role and will have strong data inputting skills and be competent using Microsoft Office packages. 

A full driving license and access to a vehicle are essential as travelling to other sites and events will be required on occasion. Welsh language is desirable although not essential.
