One week each year is dedicated to celebrating and thanking volunteers for the positive difference they make both to the lives of others, and to furthering the causes they support. Volunteers’ Week 2020 begins on Monday, June 1st , and Flintshire Local Voluntary Council (FLVC) is asking voluntary, community and charitable organisations and groups to submit messages to be shared as part of the celebrations.
Ann Woods, Chief Officer at FLVC said, “Ordinarily, as the champions for voluntary, community and charitable work in the county, FLVC would bring organisations together to show their appreciation for, and celebrate, the many volunteers devoting time to a whole spectrum of projects in Flintshire. Despite coronavirus restrictions, we’re keen to ensure the “thank you” we give this year is as loud and as heartfelt as any other, not least because, during the pandemic, the value of volunteers has really come to the fore. We look forward to reading, and to sharing, the messages we receive.”
Community, Voluntary and Charitable organisations, groups and initiatives can share their messages of thanks via email to Volunteering Development Officer Debbie.firstname.lastname@example.org, or via Facebook or Twitter, adding #FLVCVolWeek to their post. The deadline for submissions is Wednesday 27th May 2020.
Participants representing Flintshire’s third sector groups at the next virtual Volunteer Coordinators Network meeting at 10am on June 1st will have an opportunity to record a message to their volunteers. Register here to attend the meeting.
