Promoting Partnership and Collaboration

Whether you want to develop new services or expand existing services, highlight particular needs or influence service planning and delivery you will need to work with other organisations. You can share ideas and expertise and ensure that your services and activities complement each other.  So if your organisation needs to work with other public and voluntary sector partners then this section of the website will be useful for you. Especially if your organisation supports families, children and young people, older people, those with disabilities or mental health problems or any vulnerable group, manages volunteers or runs a community facility FLVC can help in a variety of ways:

  • Finding the best people for you to talk to if you want to share your experience, ideas and concerns and influence local service planning
  • Providing information through our forums, newsletters, e-groups and networks about the work of local partnerships
  • Distributing information about the latest policies and strategies coming from national and regional level
  • Recruiting and supporting voluntary sector “representatives” on a range of local and regional partnerships
  • Representing the interests of the voluntary sector by sitting on partnership boards and planning groups and raising issues and putting forward proposals on behalf of the sector
  • Organising consultation events and putting forward the views of the sector to public bodies
  • Promoting and delivering training for trustees, staff and volunteers
  • Advising about setting up new projects and services
  • Linking you to other FLVC services
  • Developing consortiums for delivering services
