Volunteering – Covid-19

We have created a dedicated vacancy on the Volunteering in Wales website, a nationally recognised portal for potential volunteers to register their interest in volunteering.  Please be aware that registering is a two-stage process:

  1. Register on the Volunteering Wales website first (unless you already have a volunteer log-in).
  2. Once registered, search for the opportunity entitled “Covid – 19 Volunteering in Flintshire” and select the “Join” button.

VOLUNTEER TO HELP – REGISTER **AND** JOIN “COVID-19 VOLUNTEERING IN FLINTSHIRE” OPPORTUNITY HERE

We will keep in regular contact with everyone who registers, linking them with a community need, as and when appropriate. We are asking interested parties to bear with us as many groups have been inundated/are struggling with their own day to day operations.

We need to be mindful of the risks of linking our vulnerable residents with unregulated support, so we are working on the best possible ways to harness the willingness and energy of those who are well and willing with the key areas of need – to protect the helper as well as the person needing help.

We’re collating information shared in the “Opportunities to help” section of our e-bulletins here.

Each day, we’re updating our collection of tweets about things you can do to help.  You can view the collection here.

We concur! 👏
"Community-based organisations played a key role in role in identifying, linking and mobilising these assets. Community-led responses were often swifter, more inclusive, more ... human-centred and more holistic than the responses of national and local government."
