Al-Anon Family Groups is a network of self-help groups for families and friends of alcoholics. Members share their experiences, strength and hope in order to solve their common problems, whether the alcoholic is still drinking or not.
It is non-religious, non-political and multi-racial. There are no dues or fees for membership. Al-Anon is self-supporting through the voluntary contributions and sale of literature. Al-Anon is confidential, members are only known by their first name and everything that is said is treated as confidential.
Al-Ateen is part of Al-Anon and is for members from twelve to seventeen inclusive. Any person over the age of twelve may attend an Al-Anon Group.
Al-Anon Family Groups meet locally. There are over 800 Al-Anon and Al-Ateen groups in the UK and Eire and over 26,000 groups worldwide.
