The Childhood Bereavement Network is a national, multi-professional federation of organisations and individuals working with bereaved children and young people. It involves and is actively supported by all the major bereavement care providers in the UK.
The Childhood Bereavement Network seeks to ensure that all children and young people in the UK, together with their families and other caregivers, can easily access a choice of high quality local and national information, guidance and support to enable them to manage the impact of death on their lives.
The organisation aims to:
- Develop the Childhood Bereavement Network as a mechanism, resource, partnership and advocate.
- To improve the range and quality of bereavement support available to children and young people, their families, to include the needs of minority ethnic children, children with a disability and those with learning difficulties.
- To increase access to information, guidance and support services.
The organisation can signpost to local organisations via an online directory, which is regularly updated, with details of ‘open access’ services for bereaved children, young people and those caring for them in their locality.
