Llys Emlyn Williams provides comfortable and safe accommodation for single homeless people aged between 16 and 25.
The project aims to provide the individual with housing related support, and assistance with the development of a variety of life skills, including budgeting, cooking and employment opportunities, prior to moving on to independent living.
Llys Emlyn Williams has 12 single rooms situated in an attractive building on the outskirts of Holywell. There are three large and well-equipped kitchens where tenants can prepare and eat their own meals (with support if required) and occasionally take part in communal meals. Tenants also have the use of a number of shared bathrooms. The hostel also has a computer project room and a communal lounge where tenants can watch TV, and socialise.
Together with a member of staff, each tenant plans and agrees an Individual Support Plan (ISP). This identifies a number of aims and goals that will help the tenant develop the skills and abilities needed in order to live confidently and independently in the community. The tenant meets with a member of staff on a regular basis to review the ISP. Staff provides whatever support and advice the tenant needs to achieve their goals. The tenant is also encouraged and supported to make maximum use of available local community support services including health, leisure and educational facilities.
Llys Emlyn Williams is staffed 24 hours per day by an experienced staff team.
Applications will be considered from those people aged 16-25 years who have housing and housing related support needs. All nominations are made by the Flintshire Housing Options Team and referrals should be made via them on 01352 703 164 or 01352 703 815.
