An online debate in celebration of Trustees’ Week. Dawn Austwick (CEO, The National Lottery Community Fund) Debra Allcock Tyler (CEO, Directory of Social Change) Vicky Browning (CEO, ACEVO) They will be joining us to share their thoughts on the subject of governance. This session will focus on governance, across different levels, to highlight some of the key learnings that have arisen from leading through this challenging time as a consequence of Covid-19.

How to run a virtual AGM
COVID-19 has presented organisations with unique and unprecedented challenges, including how to comply with the obligation to hold an AGM. The UK Government introduced legislation which temporarily allows organisations to hold virtual AGMs to better accommodate social distancing rules. This webinar provided by legal experts Hugh James will give an overview of the key considerations organisations should keep in mind when holding a virtual AGM, together with practical hints and tips to ensure that these meetings are conducted as smoothly and efficiently as possible.

Learning outcomes:
By the end of the webinar, participants will have a better understanding of:the way in which the Corporate Insolvency and Governance Act 2020 can assist in relation to AGMs;
the legal requirements for validating holding a virtual AGM;
the practical challenges of holding a virtual AGM and how to overcome them; and the importance of reviewing governing documents.
